Irene Njoroge, RN, BScN, MPH(C), is the Advanced Practice Nurse for the RAAM clinic at Women’s College Hospital, and the Nurse Educator for META:PHI. In her current role, she provides clinical care to patients in the RAAM clinic, education to nurses and other health professionals in hospitals and community agencies, and clinical guidance and support in the development of new RAAM clinics in Toronto and across Ontario. Prior to this, Irene was the Addiction Nurse Clinician at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Toronto, where she gained significant experience in the management and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. She has been involved in several educational, research and practice initiatives. Her interests include research, education, advocacy and development of trauma-informed medical and psychosocial treatment/counseling models that mitigate barriers and promote health equity for high-risk and marginalized populations.
